Teen Talk:  This is a special time for the teens to connect with Lino and Luciana.

DRUM WORKSHOP by Tribe Still Drumming; back by popular demand.

Beginning Portuguese Lessons:  Here’s an opportunity for everyone interested!

LIMIAR’S Got Talent!  It’s always fun to see talent revealed among our LIMIAR families in this variety show.  Let us know what you’re great at (or maybe not so great at, but want to perform anyway)!  Music/dance/skits/magic/comedy…you name it, we want to experience it!  We’ll repeat our “best dressed LIMIAR mom or dad” and soccer ball juggling competitions (with prize to the best juggler) and will also have family introductions during this time.

Parent Forums and Discussion:  We have asked our adult adoptees to hold a discussion with the parents… a great time to get input from our older adopted kids.

Friday Night D.J. Dance with Dylan Stone Sound and Lights.  Luciana will be back with some frevo!!!

CLUB LIMIAR:  Club-style entertainment for our teens and young adults…games, music, snacks!

The 50/50 Raffle Drawing  - proceeds go to CASA LIMIAR in Sao Paulo.  The greatest success with this fundraiser is to sell tickets in your community before you come! Money and slips can be sent to LIMIAR: USA, 111 Broken Bough, San Antonio, TX  78231, or you may bring them to the reunion. The last page of this packet has one sheet of raffle tickets for you use.

Lojas Brasil (the infamous mini-mart):  Once again, Stu and Luciana have shopped in Brasil for some special treaures!  Save your money!

Silent Auction: Bring new or gently used sports equipment, Brasilian objects, crafts, and other items you think someone might purchase.  Start your collection now!

Limiar Family Reunion 2009

Hello Limiar Families!

We are just back from the 2009 Limiar Family Reunion and so glad to have spent a weekend together sharing stories and building bonds. The LaRocks did a beautiful job organizing the event, as usual, and it was good to see familiar faces as well as some new ones.

This blog is an effort to keep the community of Limiar families up to date with the latest Limiar happenings and connected with each other throughout the year. It is a place where we can share stories in the months between our Thresholds newsletter and keep you up to date as things change on the Limiar website. It may even turn into one more way to reach out to others who are interested in adopting from Brazil or supporting the other project that Limiar facilitates.
